Welcome to Oakland Presbyterian! We are delighted that you are visiting our site, and look forward to meeting you in person!
Our church was founded in 1887 in the quaint and beautiful town of Oakland, FL. In the midst of the rapid growth and development west of Orlando, we have maintained our sense of small-town fellowship. We offer multiple opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus to one another and to our community, and we would love to welcome you into our gathering!
Contemporary worship service offers a casual approach to worship and features contemporary music. We are led in worship by the Praise Team, which is accompanied by a band that consists of guitars, piano, drums, and other instruments.
Classes for all ages and groups:
Our 11:00AM service consists of a more traditional order of service. We are joined in worship by the Sanctuary Choir, with accompaniment from the organ and piano. On occasion, our Jubilation Ringers and Children’s Choirs will participate in the service.
There are several signed parking spaces reserved for our visitors near the entrance to our Sanctuary. However, all worshipers are welcome to park on the lawn.
We believe that children learn how to worship by being in worship, and we welcome children in our worship services. Special bulletins are available that include activities designed to interest and teach our young guests about the Bible.
We have a nursery available for infants up to age 3 for both our worship services and during the Sunday School hour. The Nursery has at least two trained staff members every week, with church volunteers used when needed. All of our Nursery workers are required to pass a background check prior to working with the children. Parents are provided with a beeper so that the staff may contact you if you are needed for any reason.
We offer a Children’s Church program during our 11:00 worship service for children ages 3 – 3rd grade who would like to attend. About 20 minutes into the regular worship service, our Director of Christian Education invites the children to the Children’s Church classroom, where they experience a child-friendly worship service along with interactive activities. Weather permitting, they end their service enjoying God’s outdoor creation on our playground.
