Our current children’s choir program began in 1986 under the leadership of Bonnie Litteral and has been active ever since.  Combining singing with creative expression with scarves, puppets, and rhythm instruments, the children learn foundational music skills that progress as they mature. They lead worship at our services several times a year and take part in a traditional Christmas pageant.

We are a member of the Central Florida chapter of the Chorister’s Guild. Prior to the pandemic, we attended the annual festival, held in Orlando for choirs from all over the state. We look forward to the reinstatement of this event soon!

The children’s choir is now part of the lineup of our OWL (Oakland Wednesdays Live) program. During OWL, children enjoy dinner and rotate between Faith Formation, primary or junior choirs, and recreation time.  We welcome all local children, from members of our congregation to those who do not attend church at all. Our goal is to provide quality musical instruction and to teach kids that they can have an impact on God’s kingdom no matter their age. They can lead others to Him through music!
